"From Chapatti to Maggi"

Students who come from different parts of the country to this IT City can find themselves running in the brand race. Be it Pizza Hut, Café Coffee Day or the local Sagars, they have all become a favourite hang-out zones among students.

The most popular product that the students commonly eat extensively is Maggi Noodles. To find out about the brand loyalty, one can check the dust-bins of the hostels and PGs, which contain loads of Maggi wrappers. So the question arises: are they really happy with the taste or just that it’s time-consuming for them to cook something or is it the non-availability of the required facilities?

Whatsoever may be the reason, and however much we spend on all those high-end restaurants in one of the most fashionable malls around the city or freak out late nights at pubs or stand in long never-ending queues for takeaways of the latest opened fast food centre or get home delivered the stuffed, baked food to college canteens, nothing tempts one more than eating the lip-smacking, mouth-watering home-made food (more of mom-made food). The spices used are probably very different: the saltiness of love, the sweetness of the smile, the peppered anger and the colour of turmeric. The blend of these emotions in food still remains missing for the ones who stay away from home.

" Change - the truth of life"

Change is a part of life.People say that one changes for a better tomorrow. Every change gives way to a new way. Its a progress. But the progress is always measured in terms of good, whereas it can always be bad.

Nothing in this world is static. Trees, river, pond, lake, joy, pain, hatred, anger, feelings, mindsets, friends, family, relationship, thoughts, words, actions, surroundings, neighbourhoods, colour, TV programmes, seasons, weather, night, day, jobs, hobbies, religion, pets, phone numbers, values, ethics, laws, needs, food, cloth, likes, dislikes, cuisine, landscapes, truth, falsehood, right, wrong and so on.

The list seems endless. The only thing that probably doesn't change is the word CHANGE itself. There is absolutely nothing in this world that i feel can one hold back to itself. Even memories of the beloved changes.People who seem dearer today may be far away from you tomorrow and vice-versa.

Is change part of life or is it the need for a new identity in life? I don't know but trying to find out. Changes can be a part of both outside world and the inner world. But why do people get more affected by changes inside than the one outside. Why do they have to pretend even if does change?

Lots of people around me both who care and who doesn't have told me that u have changed a lot. Mostly towards a better way they say. But when i look back at myself I can't stop asking a question. Have I changed because I wanted to or because circumstances have made me to?

I guess both are responsible in some way or the other. But, what really makes me think at the end of the day is in spite of the inventions, discoveries and technological advancements being made, we are still helpless to our circumstances and there is nothing we can do when it comes to change. It does happen whether we agree or disagree with it and all the time...

"So empowered, yet so helpless"- Nu Media

New media also can be referred as development of the conventional forms of media taking in a new shape with the advent of new technology. But the question that remains unanswered is it accessible to the entire mass or is it subjective to a certain class. Moreover how far are people satisfied with the usage of the latest developments.

Through the social networking sites people around the world seem to be well connected with each other. But somehow it feels all right at the face of it. In reality we are moving away from the inter-personal and intra-personal forms of communication. The latest studies prove that percentage of people communicating through internet hide more amount of truths than when one is chatting face-to-face.

The traditional models of communication gives room for intra personal (diaries), interpersonal (conversations between friends), group communication (conferences) and mass communication (newspaper and television) have been redefined and given a whole new look with palm pilots, mobile phones, video-conferences, e-newspapers and internet videos. Letters and board games have their technological counterparts: the e-mails and the video-games.

Human life today is becoming more and more dependant on technology. Everyone wants the job to be done faster and an easier way. But has’t it happened with all of you sometime or the other when you were trying to make an important presentation through power-point and suddenly there is some disorder in the computer or may be a power failure due to which the presentation got hampered or when u have to e-mail something important and networks have gone down and hence you were left with no other option but to make the situation favourable through the usage of human intelligence.

So, is the technology making human beings helpless in their thought procedures? Has it hampered the thinking potential of the common man? Are we becoming digitally handicapped? Some of these questions still remain unanswered
